Cox's Bazar beach

Cox's Bazar is the longest beach in the world, located next to the city of the same name in the southeastern part of Bangladesh on the border with Myanmar. It is the tourist capital of the country.

Beach description

The sea is pure, the water is clear. The beach is sandy, shallow, with a smooth lowering of the bottom. On the coastline there is fine golden sand. The coastline is wide. The coastline is divided into several areas with different names:

  • Inani Beach - the most popular, with excellent conditions for swimming;
  • Patenga noted in the shortlist of the contest "Seven New Natural Wonders";
  • Laboni - the most developed beach;
  • Himchari - a place with beautiful waterfalls.

Inani and Khimacheri - democratic beaches, that can be visited in ordinary bathing suits, despite the Islamic faith of the majority of the population.

Cox's Bazar is a crowded beach, most vacationers are locals and citizens of Bangladesh. There are few tourists due to poorly developed infrastructure. Local sightseeings:

  • numerous Buddhist temples,
  • monasteries "khyang",
  • tombs,
  • one of the largest Buddha statues in the country.

When is it better to go

Bangladesh has a tropical monsoon subequatorial climate. The best time for a beach holiday is the period from October to March, when the air temperature reaches a comfortable +26 degrees. Exhausting heat and rainy season come in April.

Useful information

Travelers often come to the resort for the sake of the Dulhazar safari park, located 50 km from the beach. Sika deer, Bengal tigers, black bears, many species of birds and monkeys live in the natural habitat on the territory of the reserve. You can rent accommodation in numerous hotels and bungalows. On the coast, excellent conditions for diving, yachting, surfing.
