Independence beach
The nearly kilometer-long Independence beach is divided into three parts. One of the parts belongs to the hotel of the same name Independence Hotel and is a private territory. Another one is Holiday Palace Casino. Between them there is an open part of the beach accessible to everyone. Closed areas can be accessed by paying $ 10 for entrance.

Beach description
The beach is clean with white sand. The owners of hotel complexes monitor the cleanliness. The water is calm due to stone breakwaters that stop coastal waves. It is convenient to relax with children. On the way to the beach there is a park where there are playgrounds. You can relax on the benches.
In the open part of the beach there are several restaurants, near which you can also rent sunbeds and umbrellas and have a cup of coffee or a cocktail. It is not as clean as in a closed area but much cleaner than on Serendipity or Ochheuteal beaches.
On the territory of private beaches there is excellent infrastructure. You can use the services of a spa, tennis court, playground. But all services are available only to owners of the hotel’s club card.
You can get to Independence beach by tuk-tuk or motorbike from the center with Golden Lions within 20 minutes. The trip will cost $ 2,5 - 3.
When is it better to go
The Cambodia's climate is humid and hot. The rainiest months – are August and September. The air temperature throughout the year does not fall below + 23˚С. While April – is the hottest month. At this time, the air temperature is in the region of + 33- + 38 ° C. The best time for travelling to the coast of Cambodia is from November to February. Water at this time warms up to + 30˚С.
