Cades Bay beach

Cades Bay Beach is located in the vicinity of Charlestown on the shore of the quiet Cades Bay on the Nevis Island.

Beach description

Cades Bay stretched out across an open, not protected from sau, space covered with a thick layer of sand. There are comfortable sun loungers with umbrellas for rent. The shore offers stunning views of St. Kitts.

The water in the bay is very warm, calm, almost without waves. The descent is gentle, the bottom is sandy. This beach is a perfect place for holidays with children. The rich underwater world attracts lovers of snorkeling and diving. At the north part of the beach, there is the Sea Bridge pier, where the ferries from St. Kitts moor.

Chrishi's Beach Club, a beach restaurant with excellent cuisine, one of the best on the island, deserves a special mention. Many vacationers come to Cades Bay not only for beach holidays, but also for a delicious lunch on the terrace of the restaurant.

On the opposite side of the road, there's the “Mansa's” farm stall, where you can buy excellent ginger beer, freshly squeezed juice from fruits and vegetables grown on the local farm. Not far from the bay, there are famous Charlestown's sights:

  • Fort Charles,
  • Museum of Nevis History,
  • Botanical Gardens.

When is it better to go

The best time to visit Nevis for a beach vacation is during the dry season, which spans from mid-December to April. This period is characterized by warm, sunny days ideal for beach activities and water sports.

  • Mid-December to April: Peak Season - This is the most popular time to visit due to the perfect weather conditions. Expect clear skies, gentle breezes, and minimal rainfall, making it the ideal time for sunbathing, swimming, and enjoying the island's natural beauty.
  • May to August: Shoulder Season - These months offer a balance between the busy peak season and the wetter months that follow. The weather is still generally good, with slightly higher chances of rain. This can be a great time to visit for those looking to avoid the crowds while still enjoying good beach weather.
  • September to November: Off-Peak Season - This is the hurricane season, and while Nevis is often less affected than other Caribbean islands, there is a higher risk of storms and rainfall. However, for travelers willing to take a chance, there are fewer tourists and lower prices.

Ultimately, the best time for a beach vacation in Nevis depends on your preferences for weather, crowds, and prices. The dry season offers the quintessential Caribbean beach experience, while the shoulder season provides a quieter yet still enjoyable atmosphere.
