Cockleshell beach

Cockleshell is a narrow sandy beach with good infrastructure. The territory is equipped with showers and toilets, several diners, bars, where you can have a delicious and inexpensive meal, rent umbrellas, deck chairs, equipment for snorkeling, diving, surfing. The beach is kept in excellent condition and regularly cleaned up.

Volcanic sand with a grey shade is pleasant for bare feet. The descent is smooth. The bottom is sandy and rocky. It's not recommended to swim barefoot, because under your feet may be sharp fragments of shells, rocks, coral reefs. The sea is calm, without waves, which makes the beach especially attractive for tourists with children. The water is very clean, transparent, warm.

Cockleshell is always crowded with holidaymakers, including many young parents with children of all ages, lovers of quiet lying on the water by the shore, fans of active recreation – beach volleyball, diving, water skiing. On Sundays, there's a sailing school open for beginners.

The beach overlooks the island of Nevis and the volcano. On the way to Cockleshell you can take many colorful photos of the island. A particular beauty of the landscape opens up from the isthmus.
