Beach description
The beach is characterized by a developed infrastructure – there are sun loungers and deck chairs for rent, restaurants and bars.
The sandy Turtle Beach is a great place for active water entertainment, especially windsurfing, skydiving and parasailing. There is a water sports center where you can rent equipment and hire instructors. A light refreshing breeze, especially pleasant on hot days, blows almost constantly.
Turtle is also suitable for contemplative leisure, you can quietly sit on a deck chair under a palm tree, admiring the surrounding scenery and the ocean. The shore offers a stunning view of the island of Nevis. Swimming is possible only in places where the breakwaters are installed. The ocean surf knocks you down, strong underwater currents run along the shore. The bottom is rocky, there are small coral reefs.
A characteristic feature of Turtle Beach is its rich fauna. Tourists are often chased by flocks of little monkeys, who even willingly take part in team games of holidaymakers – they play volleyball. Cows and goats are wandering around.
The beach is not very crowded. Lovers of windsurfing and other extreme entertainment prefer to spend their holidays there. Parents with young children should choose a safer place, where they can swim with their child.
You can get to Turtle Beach by taxi from the port. It's cheaper to travel with companions.
