Dostar beach
Dostar is a quite developed and popular beach of Aktau resort. The clean coast and sea bottom, water attractions and full safety are guaranteed and make this beach suitable for families with young children, as besides the cleanliness, the area is under the supervision of rescue workers.

Loud crowds can be rarely encountered here, as drinking alcohol and smoking are only allowed in specific spots. Cleanliness and following these rules are the main conditions, the sand and the water entrance are cleaned every morning before the beach is opened. Dostar is being developed to this day: a spa center with a pool and other water activities is going to open soon. The beach is located a bit far from the center, so visitors who want to spend more than a day here can stay at a coastal hotel or a cheap hostel.
When is it better to go?
When planning a beach vacation to Kazakhstan, timing is crucial to make the most of the country's unique lakeside resorts. The best period to visit for a beach holiday is during the summer months, specifically from June to early September.
- June to August: These are the warmest months, with temperatures often reaching above 30°C (86°F), creating ideal conditions for swimming and sunbathing. The famous Lake Balkhash and the Caspian Sea coast are particularly popular during this time.
- Early September: This is a great time for those who prefer a quieter vacation, as the peak tourist season starts to wind down. The weather remains warm enough for beach activities, but the crowds are less dense.
It's important to note that outside of these months, the temperatures in Kazakhstan can be quite cool, and the beach resorts are not as lively. Therefore, for the optimal balance of warm weather and active beach life, aim for the heart of summer while keeping in mind that July and August are the peak tourist season.
