Nur-Plaza beach
The beach is located in Aktau, almost in the town, so the best way to get here is by taxi. It is considered the biggest and the most popular beach. The coastal area and the territory of the nearby hotel of the same name have a well-developed infrastructure that includes cafes, restaurants, umbrellas and sunbeds, as well as all the necessary conveniences: parking lot, changing rooms, toilets and showers.

Staying here is absolutely safe, first of all, because the beach area and the sea bottom are clean, and second, because the coastal area is under supervision of the rescue workers, with a first-aid post also operating here. Nur-Plaza will also surprise those who like nature, as it looks untouched to this day, as well as those who like active water sports and those who like solitude and quietness, as there are secluded parts on the beach where even bringing food and beverages is prohibited.
When is it better to go?
When planning a beach vacation to Kazakhstan, timing is crucial to make the most of the country's unique lakeside resorts. The best period to visit for a beach holiday is during the summer months, specifically from June to early September.
- June to August: These are the warmest months, with temperatures often reaching above 30°C (86°F), creating ideal conditions for swimming and sunbathing. The famous Lake Balkhash and the Caspian Sea coast are particularly popular during this time.
- Early September: This is a great time for those who prefer a quieter vacation, as the peak tourist season starts to wind down. The weather remains warm enough for beach activities, but the crowds are less dense.
It's important to note that outside of these months, the temperatures in Kazakhstan can be quite cool, and the beach resorts are not as lively. Therefore, for the optimal balance of warm weather and active beach life, aim for the heart of summer while keeping in mind that July and August are the peak tourist season.
