Failaka beach

Failaka is a large beach on the island of the same name in Kuwait.

Beach description

A tourist center and well-developed infrastructure are located in the central part of the beach, in the resort of Wanasa Beach. The coast and bottom are covered with snow-white fine sand. The water is clear and azure. The lowering of the bottom is smooth. The conditions are suitable for relaxation of the smallest tourists. People rent accommodation in the only hotel located on the Persian Gulf in Failaka Heritage Village. The beach is very secluded, quiet and calm. In the future the authorities plan to develop infrastructure and build up the coast with new hotels. They get to the beach by bus or taxi to Ras Al Ard and further by ferry. It takes one hour to swim one way. The price of one ticket is 15 dollars.

Those who want to spend time actively are engaged in water sports, ride on an Arabic boat, a yacht. Scuba diving is popular. In the water of the Persian Gulf there are many unusual fish and other marine inhabitants. Travel companies organize diving tours. There are schools that teach scuba diving.

When is it better to go

Kuwait has a tropical desert climate –very hot and dry. In summer, the average temperature is +45 degrees in the sun and +35 in the shade, there is no precipitation, sometimes dust storms occurs here. In winter, the weather is changeable – frosts occur sometimes. Most precipitation falls in the fall due to cyclones from the Indian Ocean. Water temperature is from +26 to +37 in summer and +16 in winter. Dry desert wind blows from May to October. It is best to relax in Kuwait in the winter, in the middle of spring and autumn.
