Beach description
The many-kilometer coastline is covered with white sand, which effectively harmonizes with the deep blue of the North Sea. During low tides, the width of the beach, which is already impressive in size, increases many times, which makes it seem truly endless. It is an ideal place for surfing and yachting, active outdoor games, horse riding, and hiking and cycling. Cycling and sports marathons are often held ashore, as well as all kinds of festivals, concerts and other cultural events.
In summer, it is especially crowded, because there is no sweltering heat on the coast and you can spend all day on the beach without risking sunburn in the scorching sun. True, the sea temperature even during the peak season does not exceed twenty degrees, but, despite this, there are many who want to refresh themselves in the cool waters of the North Sea.
The beach is equipped with sunbeds, umbrellas and tents from the wind, there are children's and sports grounds. The resort features a mini golf course, go-kart center and amusement park. A wide promenade stretches along the entire coast, along which there are luxury hotels, private villas, expensive shops and restaurants.
When is the best time to go?
The swimming season on the west coast of Belgium usually lasts from June to September, when seawater warms up to 19 degrees, and the air temperature goes up to 23-25. But even at the height of the season, strong winds blow on the coast, that are worth taken into account when planning a vacation with very small children.
