Saint-Gilles-Croix-De-Vie beach
Grande beach in Saint-Gilles-Croix-De-Vie is the main and most popular for vacation among four beaches of this resort town. It is located on the on the Atlantic coast, just south of the mouth of the Vi River and about 3 km from the city port. Mostly locals have a rest here, and much less often, foreigners prefer to relax here, though grande beach is the cleanest and most infrastructured for vacation.

The vast coastline extends parallel to the city promenade, where there are numerous cafes, bars and shops. The beach is covered with fine light sand. All the beach is equipped with shower stalls and toilets, but catering can be found only on the promenade. The highlight of the menus of local restaurants is fish dishes, because the region is famous for fishing traditions. The northern and southern parts of the beach are surrounded by picturesque dunes.
During the season it is not easy to find available place on parking which is located near the promenade. The southern outskirts of the beach is less overcrowded. Basically, this beach is preferred by surfers and fans of SUP-surfing, for whom the most suitable waves are here.
