Terriere beach
De La Terriere (Terriere Beach) is the popular wild beach located on the northern outskirts of La Tranche-sur-Mer, next to the Terrier small commune. It is quite scenic wide sandy beach surrounded by spectacular dunes and forests that sextends to almost 2 km. The beach is considered to be one of the most beautiful and best for water extreme in Vendee.

During the season, rescue services operate here, and the guests can use a vide range of services relevant to various water activities. Near the beach, there is an organized car parking with a capacity of 500 parking spaces. From there, you should overcome a small part of the forest in order to reach the beach itself. There is a paved path taht leads to the central part of the beach, but you'll have to will have to go down the sand dunes to reach the larger part of the beach. The beach is equipped with toilets and the beach bar.
300 meters north of the rescue tower, there is a nudist recreation area. Pets are allowed only outside the guarded part of the beach. It is not the best place for swimming in Vendee, since there are rather sharp depth fluctuations, very strong currents, and often large massive waves occur.
