Vitoria beach
Vitoria is one of the most popular beaches on the island of Terceira. It is a vast stretch of sand, located near the well-developed promenade. There is a city nearby, so it’s convenient to combine vacations in Vitoria with visiting shops, cafes, restaurants and sightseeing.

Vitoria beach is perfect for a relaxing holiday on the coast, and for active water sports - windsurfing, water skiing. There are also excellent conditions for diving and snorkeling (the underwater world of Azor is rich and diverse, the ocean has many reefs with a large number of different inhabitants). There are right conditions for sailing on the beach (a small marina is located nearby - yacht parking).
You can note the city observation deck with a statue of the Virgin Mary among the local attractions, from there you can see the surrounding area of the beach from an aerial view.
When is it better to go
The beach season in Portugal lasts from the beginning of June until September, when the air temperature reaches +30°C and the water temperature - +19°C. It should be remembered that the Atlantic Ocean does not warm up well and cools quickly, lovers of a more comfortable temperature can swim in natural stone pools, which are quite numerous on the coast.
