Kijkduin beach

Kaykdown - a democratic beach on the west coast of Holland in the Hague region. It is ecologically clean, nature is untouched, wild and original.

Beach description

The coastline is long and wide, dotted with fine golden sand. Water in the North Sea is not warmed up more than +20 degrees, bathing conditions are not available. A strong cold wind blows on the coast, waves rise. Along the perimeter of the beach there are high dunes, the landscape is picturesque, and the landscapes are endless and flat.

Vacationers get to the resort by tram. Qaikdown's infrastructure is developed at the highest level - for the comfort and cosiness of vacationers there is everything you need. Rent housing in hotels on the beach or in the city. It is possible to have a snack at the many restaurants and cafes on the beach, in the city center. People buy groceries and necessary goods at local stores. Tourists can have fun at the Aquarium and Madurodam - Miniature Park, located near the beach. Various events are held annually, for example, in June, a mass celebration takes place in honor of the first catch of herring. The conditions at the resort are ideal for doing various sports:

  • kayaking,
  • kitesurfing.

When is it better to go

There are no mountains in the country; therefore, throughout the whole of Holland the climate is moderately warm, marine, and humid. The average temperature in summer reaches +20 degrees, in winter – up to +1. There are few sunny days, it often rains, strong winds blow, fogs arise. The weather is rapidly changing. Summer is indulgent, winter is mild. The best time to travel to Holland is spring and summer. The beach season lasts from July to August.
