Texel Island beach

The beaches here are long, wide and sandy, with a total length of 25 km. The region is ecologically clean, the territory is occupied by beach tourist areas, fields, pastures. The water in the sea is cold, it is cool on the beach . People come to the resort to sunbathe, to enrich themselves culturally and to distract themselves from everyday work. It is not easy to get to the island: first, tourists go for 20 minutes by ferry, then go to their destination by bus or car. There is a bicycle hire at the ferry station. The island has many hiking and cycling routes. It’s important to bring along warm clothes - the weather is cold, strong winds blow.

The island has paid parking lots, campsites with different accommodation options. Tourists book rooms in family hotels, bungalow parks on the coast of the Wadden Sea, yurts, recreational vehicles, and ship. To save money, it is important to book housing in advance. RoundTexelRace catamarans regatta is held annually on the island in mid-July, and a blues festival is held in mid-autumn.

There are no mountains in the country; therefore, throughout the whole of Holland the climate is moderately warm, marine, and humid. The average temperature in summer reaches +20 degrees, in winter – up to +1. There are few sunny days, it often rains, strong winds blow, fogs arise. The weather is rapidly changing. Summer is indulgent, winter is mild. The best time to travel to Holland is spring and summer. The beach season lasts from July to August.
