Lanzheron beach

Odessa's main beach, Langeron, is often compared to New York's Brighton Beach. He's just as well-equipped and international. Langeron is extremely popular with tourists who came to Odessa on vacation.

Beach description

Ten minutes walk from the centre of Odessa, and you find yourself at the pompous 19th-century arch that serves as the entrance to the Langeron. This is the first beach you'll find on a 6-kilometre long coastal beach that connects several Odessa resorts.

Langeron is surrounded by low but steep limestone slopes covered with lush greenery. Steps decorated with two huge spheres help descend to crystal clear waters. The beach is covered with pure fine sand. On the left side - less popular with holidaymakers - the sand coating is inferior to concrete slabs. Gentle piers successfully reflect wave blows. Contains waves and an underwater monolithic breakwater located 50 m from shore.

The beach is connected to another iconic recreation area - Shevchenko Park. Its viewing platforms offer views of the Gulf of Odessa and the seaport. In the heart of the park stands a column erected to commemorate one of Alexander II's visits to Odessa.

When is it better to go

The swimming season on Ukrainian beaches begins in early June and lasts until the end of September. Particularly in this period, tourists rush to the resort cities to enjoy the hot and sunny weather on the scenic coast.

  • a few playgrounds for children and sports
  • numerous locker rooms and showers;
  • bio toilets;
  • rent kayaks, kayaks, bananas, equipment for kite and windsurfing and other water activities;
  • Rent beach umbrellas, mattresses and sun loungers;
  • car parking space;
  • gift shops;
  • first-aid post.

This beach cleanliness is ensured by the installation of urns every 10 meters. The 400-meter quay is decorated with fountains and palm trees, equipped with tables and benches (for 800 people), equipped with swimming pools (up to 1.5 m deep) and nightclubs. It is an ideal place for picnics and sunset parties, photo and video sessions.

In 2017, an original art object appeared on the beach - an ancient door with intriguing words Domus Solis. Odessans believe that this is the front entrance to the Sun House, and guests like to be photographed against the background of an interesting installation.

Beach Catering Network is represented by both democratic cafes and expensive bars and restaurants. Some of them operate 24 hours a day. Visitors are offered dishes of European, Ukrainian and Japanese cuisines. There is also a delivery of food - burgers, pizza, desserts - from city restaurants.

The newly built Nemo Dolphinarium and the eponymous 5-star spa hotel are a worthwhile addition to the beach complex. There are also more budget options in close proximity to the beach.
