Bells beach

Bells is an Australian beach in Victoria that surfers around the world know. Many of them have already been here, while others just dream of being on this famous coast of Australia. Bells is the venue for the Rip Curl Pro Bells Beach surfing competition.

Beach description

Bells is located in the 300-m bay. Similar to the most beaches in this area, it is surrounded with high cliffs. The entire beach is covered with heavy brigt orange sand. Waves are almost always high here. They prevent from the shoal formation, so the beach depth increases rather sharply.

The beach is moderately dangerous (point 6) for surfers. It is unsuitable for swimming (due to waves, possibility of sharks appearing, rip current, and cold water) but local views are fantastic. The beach is wild and provides almost no service to the guests. facilities include the equipped ocean descent and a car parking lot. Nearby, one can find water closets and washing rooms, аlong with drinking fountains. Hotels closest to the beach are located in the city of Torki.

When is it better to go

The busiest swimming season in Australia lasts from December to February. In this summer, for the southern latitudes, the mainland heats up to 25-30 °C, in places up to 40 °C. In winter (June to August) the air is cooled down to 11 °C. May and September are considered the best beach months with a cloudless sky and not too active sun.
