Brighton beach
Brighton is not the most beautiful beach on the Australian continent, but many people consider it iconic. Brighton beach, 15 km from Melbourne, conveys the atmosphere of this cultural center of Australia. The visiting card of the beach is 82 colorful box houses lined up along a 250-meter sand strip.

Beach description
Only the lazy would not take pictures of this beach LEGO city. But not everyone knows that exclusive houses built over 100 years ago were first used as changing cabins. Today, the interior style of 1980ies compensates for the absence of running water and power supply in box houses. Their owners store fishing gear here, and welcome people wishing to hide from flaming sun.
From the beach, you can enjoy the fantastic view of Port Phillip Gulf, and the city view of Melbourne. Usually, the ocean near Brighton coast is calm and suitable for safe swimming. When wind rises, this place becomes perfect for surfing.
Rescuers do not patrol the beach for twenty-four hours, so swimmers should be directed by flags, stay away from tide waves and currents taht can throw them at cliffs.
When is it better to go
The busiest swimming season in Australia lasts from December to February. In this summer, for the southern latitudes, the mainland heats up to 25-30 °C, in places up to 40 °C. In winter (June to August) the air is cooled down to 11 °C. May and September are considered the best beach months with a cloudless sky and not too active sun.
