City Beach

The picturesque expanses of white sand and beach amenities brought City Beach the glory of one of Perth's best beaches. Two specially built breakwaters create excellent conditions for fishing, as well as provide safe swimming for the whole family. For surfers on the beach, relatively low waves rise with an average height of 0.5 to 1 meter.

Beach description

City Beach is a 2.5-km long sand area from the northern edge to breakerwaters which make the borders of the main 500-meter recreation and patrol zone. In summer, local surf club founded in 1925 carries out interesting surfing carnivals with tournaments between volunteering rescuers on City Beach.

Visitors of City Beach may enjoy beautiful landscape recreation areas with children's playground, BBQ kits and and picnic tables, they can use water closets, changing cabins and open air washing rooms. Beside the small food store, the panoramic restaurant with delicious food is located on the beach.

City Beach is a place for ultra modern residences and green reservation areas. You can drive from Perth to the recreation zone for 15 minutes and leave the car at one of local convenient parking lots.

When is it better to go

The busiest swimming season in Australia lasts from December to February. In this summer, for the southern latitudes, the mainland heats up to 25-30 °C, in places up to 40 °C. In winter (June to August) the air is cooled down to 11 °C. May and September are considered the best beach months with a cloudless sky and not too active sun.
