Greenwood beach

Greenwood Beach is located in Port Howe Island, Cat Island, part of the Bahamas. This charming beach has been created by nature itself for those who seek solitude and silence. The coast is mostly deserted due to its vast territory and distance from popular tourist routes.

Beach description

Greenwood is a twelve kilometer long beach covered with the dense layer of snow white sand with subtle pink tincture. Sand has the unusual shade due to its close proximity to the coral reef. That is why snorkeling and diving are the most popular sports on this beach. Just a few meters away from the coast, shadowy trees and palm trees lean over the beach, creating additional coolness and beautiful natural view.

The Caribbean Sea in this part of Bahama Islands is mostly calm, with tender waves and light breeze, and water here is crystal clear, of light turquoise color. The Greenwood bottom is sand and slightly sloping, with the shallow entry, so even kids can safely swim there.

When is the best time to go?

Holidays in the Bahamas are good at any time of the year, but the busy season is in the period from mid-November to May. The Bahamas are disposed quite low in relation to sea level, so the wind blows in the winter months, but it is gentle and soberly pleasant. The air temperature is between 27-29 degrees from the end of autumn to the beginning of summer. Traveling with children, it is better to come in the autumn months, while the spring is more appropriate to go for new emotions, and peacefully enjoy the sunshine – in winter.
