Bahía de Jiquilisco beach
Bahía de Jiquilisco beach zone is located in southeastern El Salvador, in the department of Usulután, 100 km away from the capital. It takes 2.5 hours to get here from San Salvador by car. Bahía de Jiquilisco is a unique place combining a calm, secluded coast covered with white sand, a cozy bay with a liman and plots of the largest mangroves in the country. Visitors to Bahía de Jiquilisco have a wide range of options for active water recreation – swimming, scuba diving, tourists have the opportunity to visit a biosphere reserve, located just 13 km away from the beach to watch the tropical fauna – exotic birds and turtles. Many hotels in the beach area can also offer entertainment in the form of runs in kayaks through mangrove forests, bike trips, excursions to a cocoa plantation or coconut grove.

From May to October, in Salvador, there are heavy rains, after which the most climatically favorable period for visiting the country begins - from November to April.
