San Diego beach
Playa San Diego Beach is located south of the town of San Diego, 26km away from the capital of El Salvador. It's recognized as one of the most beautiful coasts in the country. A 7 km strip of white sand, mild surf, light breeze and gentle entry into the ocean are suitable for swimming and classic beach holidays even more than for surfing.

Within walking distance from Playa San Diego, there are a number of hotels and private ranches for overnight stays. There are also several restaurants on the coast offering dishes from seafood. After driving to the mangrove swamps, visitors to the beach can watch the locals look for shellfish there.
Thanks to its large open space, which is not crowded even though it's accessible and close to the capital, Playa San Diego is an ideal place for a beach picnic, a game of football or volleyball, and jogging. You can come here to admire the beautiful tropical scenery overlooking the San Vincente volcano, swim in the ocean and take a break from the hustle and bustle of the city, either as a family, a couple or a company, by renting a car at the Comalapa Airport or the capital – San Salvador or by taking a bus from Puerto de La Libertad.
When is the best time to go?
From May to October, in Salvador, there are heavy rains, after which the most climatically favorable period for visiting the country begins - from November to April. It should be borne in mind that in late December - early January, resorts are filled with vacationers who come to celebrate Christmas and New Year (mainly by Americans), which affects prices.
