Beach description
The beach is located only 40 km from the capital. People get to it as well as to all resorts in El Salvador - by bus, taxi or rented car directly from the international airport. Its territory is ennobled by rocky terrain, the mouth of the river, bonfires with rock music and the starry sky - a true romance for lovers of an active lifestyle. While the neighboring beaches are famous for seafood and waves for surfing, El Tunco is famous for its nightlife, when music and loud laughter from the coastal bars, restaurants and cafes can be heard. In the daytime, most locals teach tourists how to surf, there are several rental centers on the beach. And the waves on the nearby beaches will help beginners and professionals to do this exciting sport. Sand on the coastline is of black colour with a large number of rocks, it is not very appropriate to rest with children on such a beach, and it is better to do swimming elsewhere.
When is the best time to go?
From May to October, in Salvador, there are heavy rains, after which the most climatically favorable period for visiting the country begins - from November to April. It should be borne in mind that in late December - early January, resorts are filled with vacationers who come to celebrate Christmas and New Year (mainly by Americans), which affects prices.
