Amiets beach

North Brittany is replete with extraordinary and captivating natural sites, among which Amiets Beach stands out. Stretching over a 1.5 km expanse, this pristine white sandy shore, juxtaposed with the striking turquoise hues of the water, provides a picturesque setting for your holiday snapshots.

Beach description

Amiets Beach, known as the "Great" beach of Cléder, is a commune on the west coast of the Celtic Sea that beckons sailing enthusiasts from across the globe. Here, you can rent a sailing catamaran and even receive training from an experienced instructor. Training costs range from 80 to 130 euros. The beach also offers water activities tailored for children aged 3 to 6 years - during the summer months, they can embark on a treasure hunt aboard an equipped boat. In addition to sailing, visitors can engage in various sports, including windsurfing and kayaking.

Facilities for disabled guests include complimentary beach prams, which enable easy movement across the sand. During the peak season of July and August, lifeguards are on duty, and public restrooms are available from 8:00 to 21:00.

While Amiets Beach is characterized by a noticeable depth from the shoreline and strong winds, families with children may prefer the more sheltered Grenouillère Beach. Located to the east of Amiets Beach and within walking distance, Grenouillère offers a safe, warm water pool with a comfortably shallow bottom, ideal for young swimmers.

When is the best time to go?

The best time to visit Brittany for a beach vacation is during the summer months, from June to August. This period offers the most favorable weather conditions for enjoying the region's stunning coastline.

  • June: The beginning of summer is a great time to visit, as the temperatures are comfortable, and the tourist rush has not yet peaked. Days are long and sunny, providing ample opportunity for beach activities and exploration.
  • July and August: These are the warmest months in Brittany, with the highest chances of sunny days. Beaches are at their best, but also at their busiest. If you prefer a vibrant atmosphere and don't mind the crowds, this is the time for you. Early booking is recommended to secure accommodations.
  • September: For those who prefer a quieter experience, early September still offers pleasant weather, though the water might be slightly cooler. The summer crowds have dissipated, allowing for a more relaxed beach vacation.

Regardless of the month you choose, Brittany's beaches, with their fine sands and crystal-clear waters, are sure to provide a memorable vacation experience.
