Useful information

A good asphalt road leads from the beach to the center of the Plomeur Resort, so it is worth a day's walk through its ancient streets. The village has a small harbour and an excellent fish market, where you can buy cheap fresh seafood.

It is also worth a visit to the ancient Phare d'Eckmühl lighthouse, which is located south of the beach, on the outskirts of the cape. It offers a magnificent, breathtaking panorama from the Gulf of Audierne to Plauhinek, but it can only be seen by the bravest tourists who are not familiar with the fear of heights. The lighthouse is quite high (65 meters), rather steep spiral stairs (more than three hundred steps) leads to the very top where the observation deck is. In addition, it is blown up by a strong wind, which also carries a splash of sea surf, and in rainy weather, handrails and steps become very slippery. When gusts of wind exceed the allowed value, the lighthouse is closed. To visit Phare d'Eckmühl is better in clear weather and it is desirable not in a high season, differently to rise on an observation deck, it is necessary to stand in turn on scorching sun.
