Dahlet Qorrot beach

In the northeastern part of Gozo island is located the cozy Dahlet Qorrot Bay. This is a peaceful place where you can enjoy the beauties of nature all year round.

Beach description

The path to the bay passes through a narrow descending road with a wonderful view. Upon arrival you will find a calm sandy-pebble beach. You will certainly be struck by the fishing dwellings - caves carved into the rocks on the right side. If you come to Dahlet-Orrot with children, the coastal shallow water will allow you to calmly let them go swimming. However, the depth here is growing quite quickly.

On Dahlet-Orrot there is a separate area for diving enthusiasts, equipped with a ladder for safe ascent from the water. The cleanliness of the sea also allows you to snorkel. Small coves in the rocks by the beach and benches, shaded by trees, will help to hide from the scorching sun.

Dahlet Orrot has a public toilet, parking and ramp. Sometimes in the summer months there is a snack bar on the beach. Not far from Dahlet-Orrot beach, there is a lookout tower built in the 17th century and serving as a local attraction.

When is it better to go

The swimming season in Malta lasts from late May to October. The air temperature reaches comfortable +25-30°C, and the water temperature does not fall below +23°C. In some regions of the Maltese archipelago, the water warms up to +26-28°C. In summer, dry, sunny and calm weather prevails. Precipitation is rare. The southern coast of Malta is often influenced by the dry desert winds of Africa, raising high waves and bringing the sultry breath of the Sahara to the islands.
