Beach description
The narrow beach line is covered with sand with a reddish tint that goes under the water. The entry is relatively gentle. The bottom is deep a few meters from the beach. If you have children, it wold be better to find another beach as it is not easy to get to San Blas.
San Blas is a peaceful secluded place which is not packed with tourists even during the beach season. There is no infrastructure but you can comfortably set on a towel under your own umbrella. You should also bring food and drink as there are no any signs of civilization overthere.
A steep pedestrian path without handrails on a hillside leads to the beach. It is especially difficult to go up.
A car parking is organized on the top 2 km away from the beach. You can get to San Blas by bus, then try 500 m on foot .
When is it better to go
The swimming season in Malta lasts from late May to October. The air temperature reaches comfortable +25-30°C, and the water temperature does not fall below +23°C. In some regions of the Maltese archipelago, the water warms up to +26-28°C. In summer, dry, sunny and calm weather prevails. Precipitation is rare. The southern coast of Malta is often influenced by the dry desert winds of Africa, raising high waves and bringing the sultry breath of the Sahara to the islands.
