Sopot Beach
Sopot is a small Poland city situated on the Baltic coast between Gdansk and Gdynia. The city with its beaches became famous as a vacation spot back to the time of the German Empire. Before the First World War, naval officers who served nearby in Danzig, often spent their holidays here . The beaches themselves are mainly covered with fine sand, pebbles or coarse sand can be met quite rarely. They stretch along the whole city which is located near the beach in the form of a thin long stripe. You can get to the swimming place from almost anywhere in Sopot. The sea is not deep near the beach, the shallow water extends over a couple of meters. Therefore, in some places you can admire quite exotic landscapes with long jetties and wooden marinas. One of them is the largest of those in all of Europe.
