Beach description
Agness Water sand beach stretches for 5.5 km and is famous for its picturesque neighborhood, and the surf club. Average waves reach one meter here. Surfing conditions are variable, so water extreme fans should be governed by weather forecasts and the evaluation of their possibilities. Local companies provide Reef 2 Beach surfing lessons and board rent.
The patrolled southern part of the beach is better for safe swimming. Fishermen are recommended to pick up places in any edge of the bay. Sport fans have a chance to see annual tournaments - Agnes Water Triathlon and Reef2Beach Longboard Classic. Dog owners are allowed to stay with their barking pets, and wild fauna lovers will observe sea eagles, turtles, and dolphins. Sea exotics fans will bring from here beautiful shells brought onto the shore by tide from the Great Barrier Reef.
When is it better to go
The busiest swimming season in Australia lasts from December to February. In this summer, for the southern latitudes, the mainland heats up to 25-30 °C, in places up to 40 °C. In winter (June to August) the air is cooled down to 11 °C. May and September are considered the best beach months with a cloudless sky and not too active sun.
