Palm Cove beach

Palm Cove is one of the most beautiful beaches in Australia, which is located near the city of Cairns, in Queensland. The picturesque coast with white sand and shady palm trees is popular with tourists from all over the world.

Beach description

Palm Cove Beach is perfect for ocean beach rest, and local infrastructure allows making it comfortable and versatile.

The bay is large, so the beach is not crowded almost for all time. This ocean area is special because it is recommended to swim here only within teh fenced area. Water inhabitants, such as crocodiles and jellyfsh, are potentially hazardous. Water is not transparent due to sand bottom. Winds are frequent on Palm Cove.

The beach has no rent of deck chairs and umbrellas, but it has water closets, shower stalls and BBQ sites. On one edge of the bay, there is a pier convenient for fishing.

Palm Cove is a popular resort, so several restaurants, cafes and stores are located in close vicinity to the beach. There is also car rent, Internet cafe and tour office. Near the beach, there are many hotels, private villas, and apartments. It is easy to find dwelling within the wide price pange here. Other accommodation options can be found near Palm Cove. Multi-room apartments with a kitchen are very popular.

When is it better to go

The busiest swimming season in Australia lasts from December to February. In this summer, for the southern latitudes, the mainland heats up to 25-30 °C, in places up to 40 °C. In winter (June to August) the air is cooled down to 11 °C. May and September are considered the best beach months with a cloudless sky and not too active sun.
