Beach description
Adventure Bay is a long narrow beach with a length of 7 km, covered with fine golden sand. The slope into the water is sloping, the bottom is sandy. You can walk barefoot on the beach and in the water. The sea in the bay is mostly calm, and without waves. Particularly calm water in the southern part of the beach. It's a good place to swim, but the water is pretty cold. The central area is suitable for surfing. There is a highway along the beachline, a parking lot and trailers. There are several budget hotels and guest houses on the coast. Australians prefer camping. There are toilets, drinking water, launching boats. Adventure Bay is one of the most popular beaches of Tasmania, but it is never crowded due to its long length.
When is it better to go
The busiest swimming season in Australia lasts from December to February. In this summer, for the southern latitudes, the mainland heats up to 25-30 °C, in places up to 40 °C. In winter (June to August) the air is cooled down to 11 °C. May and September are considered the best beach months with a cloudless sky and not too active sun.
