Beach description

The beautiful sandy beaches of Friendly are a great place for those who love secluded area. It's always deserted and calm. Infrastructure is almost non-existent, as there are a number of strict laws in force of the territory of Freysine to protect the endemic species of plants and animals in Tasmania. Few visitors to Friendly beaches bathe, picnic, surf, snorkel and dive. For comfortable rest on the beach, it is advisible to bring everything you need to rest - food, drinks, umbrella and a mat, equipment for favourite water entertainments. After the picnic, remove household waste to avoid disturbing the park's ecosystem. It is not very comfortable with kids on Friendly Beaches, as it is long and tiresome to get to beaches, the water is cold, and there are no amenities.

In addition to resting on the amazing beaches of Friendly, travelers have the chance to the wild and untouched areas of Tasmania. You can stay in a tent camp and go on a journey through the park with guides. Fresine National Park is home to wombats, possums of various species, big-eared rats, flying squirrels, dwarf couscous and a huge variety of birds.

When is it better to go

The busiest swimming season in Australia lasts from December to February. In this summer, for the southern latitudes, the mainland heats up to 25-30 °C, in places up to 40 °C. In winter (June to August) the air is cooled down to 11 °C. May and September are considered the best beach months with a cloudless sky and not too active sun.
