Beach description
Moorea beaches as on all islands of French Polynesia are private and public. Two are interesting from the latter.
Temae beach stretches along the coast for about one and a half kilometers. It is the beach with clean white sand where there is everything to relax: loungers and umbrellas, WC. It is shallow here, the entry into the water is smooth. It’s better not to enter into the water without special shoes, as there are many sea urchins around.
Flamingo Beach is located in a very beautiful, but hard-to-reach place. It is not equipped at all, therefore it is uncrowded. Here you can retire and spend time away from many crowds of tourists of the island. All kinds of active beach rest are available for Moorea visitors. But diving with sharks and feeding sharks are considered the most exotic.
Corals in the maritime belt are dead, so divers will find this place not very interesting. It is necessary to swim to far corals to a great depth to observe marine fauna and flora.
You can get to Moorea island by plane of local airlines from Tahiti in 10 minutes and 56 € to one end. It takes longer to get there by ferry, travel time is 20-25 minutes, but it costs half the price - 26 €.
When is it better to go
The tropical climate of the Society of French Polynesia Islands allows you to relax here all year round. Air temperature always keeps at + 25-27˚С. The water temperature is in the same range, and a light breeze from the ocean allows you not to notice the heat. But the period from October to April is considered the best time to relax, when it is actually a summer on the islands. In winter, travelers say the weather is very unpredictable.
