Penanjong Beach

Penanjong Beach is a spacious beach in a calm and quiet place. Penanjong Beach is an amazing combination of picturesque nature and the endless sea, family picnics and extreme sports. Penanjong is one of the few beaches where you can meet a large number of different nationalities at the same time. For an excellent holiday in Brunei, it is enough to respect the culture of local residents and not violate their rights and laws, although they differ significantly from European norms and rules.

Beach description

Penanjong Beach is located in a small village with the same name Penanjong in the northeast, a few kilometers from the city of Tutong in Brunei. The beach is the main sight in the village, whose population does not exceed 2500 inhabitants. By the way, Penanjong Beach is more popular among tourists, than among locals.

The endless snow-white beaches, surrounded by lush green palm trees on one side and the loud sea on the other hand - it is Penanjong Beach. The covering of beach is sandy, the sand in this part of Brunei has a very fine dispersion, with a nice texture. The colour of the sand changes its hue depending on the time of day: on a bright sunny day, sand plays with pearl hues, on cloudy days and towards evening, the sand has a light yellow hue with gold inclusions. The water at Penanjong Beach has an amazing color: near the coast it is clear with a turquoise hue, and in places of increasing depth, the water changes colour to blue with a smooth transition to deep blue. And on the horizon there is an effect of infinity, because the sea and the sky merge into an organic whole. This natural phenomenon turned the sunsets on the beach of Penanjong into a real sightseeing attraction of Brunei on the coast of the South China Sea. The entry into the sea is sloping and shallow, the bottom is perfectly clean without algae and stones. A distinguishing feature of Penanjong beach are artificially created ledges in the sea, which act like small breakwaters, pacifying fast waves.

The developed beach infrastructure allows families with children, ecotourism enthusiasts and people, who are fond of water sports, to relax comfortably.

When is the best time to go?

It should be borne in mind  that in Brunei it is humid year-round, the weather is especially bad during the period from  October to January, when there are tropical rains. The rest of the year, temperature and humidity are comfortable for visiting the country.
