Beach description

Tungku is located in Brunei Muara district in the northwest. It is possible to get to the beach from Moire on the Tutong Muar highway towards the Empire Hotel. At the traffic circle, it is necessary to turn around and go onto the opposite lane of the highway. A couple of kilometers after the Pantai Tungku sign, turn right at the first turn and go straight, this is the way to the beach. The road to Tungku Beach is not in very good condition and is often flooded, but passage by car is quite safe.

Tungku Beach is a quiet bay, surrounded by rocks and shady trees. This beach was created artificially, from a ledge in the sea, which became the beach, and the edges of the bay were strengthened with rectangular rocks, often Tungku is recognized by this distinguishing feature. The beach area has a wide sand strip with a length of about 400 m. The bright blue water on the horizon merges with the sky. Especially romantic, the sea looks in the sun at sunset. The covering of the beach is sandy with a solid base. The entry into the sea is sloping, without stones and algae. A distinguishing feature of this beach is its depth, the shallow water is a couple of meters from the coast. Jellyfish can rarely be found in water. Unlike other Brunei beaches, mosquitoes and flies are rare on Tungka.

Tourists usually choose this place for outdoor activities, which is very popular on this beach. This beach is comfortable for family rest, but it is not recommended for children bathing because of the high and strong waves.

When is the best time to go?
