Monkey Beach

Monkey Beach, also known as Teluk Duyung, is located in a bay on the northwest coast of Penang Island. You can get to the beach by boat from Batu Ferringhi.

Beach description

Long and narrow beach line, surrounded by dense jungle thickets, is covered with pure white sand. The descent is smooth and the bottom is sandy. The sea is clean, calm and shallow. The beach is suitable for swimming, snorkeling and diving. On the shore and in the jungle you can find crab-eating and long-tail macaques, flying squirrels, lemurs. Feeding animals is not recommended, as monkeys can become aggressive.

About one kilometer from the beach on the high rocky Muka Head cape there is a 19th-century lighthouse with a viewing deck. For the lighthouse observation, you must obtain permission from the park administration at the check-in.

When is it better to go

There are no sudden changes in temperature on the beaches of Malaysia's and possible to relax on the islands all year round. There is no particular season of rains and winds, precipitation is distributed depending on the month of the year and the region of the country.
