Beach description
The 80 m coastline is covered in clean light sand. The descent is smooth and the sea bottom is covered in sand mixed with stones, but there are many sea urchins here, so wearing slippers is highly advised. High waves are frequent here. Large boulders mark the edges of the beach. It's almost impossible to swim during low tides because of stones that you need to overcome in order to get to the deeper waters.
You can get to Ta-Yai by rickshaw from Tawaen pier or on foot from Na-Baan village. The beach isn't crowded, and you can encounter a lot of fishermen and divers here.
Umbrellas and sunbeds are set up on the beach (rent costs 100 Thai baht). Cafes, a shop, paid toilet and shower operate here. You can partake in snorkeling or underwater swimming. The closest hotel is located 1 km away from here.
When is it better to go
The period from November to March is considered the high season in Thailand. Comfortable air temperature, as well as minimal rainfall create optimal conditions for a beach holiday.
