Beach description
Dongtan is 1 km long and about 40 metres wide. There is a walking path along the beach for evening walks in the fresh air. There is also a palm grove on Dongtan. The place for swimming is fenced with buoys, the entrance is quite sharp near the wild part of the beach. But at low tide, the entrance is very gentle. At the end of the season, strong winds begin, hence the waves rise. The rest of the time the sea is calm.
Despite the fact that the beach is located in close proximity to the center and many attractions, it is quite calm and peaceful. Shopping fans will love it, in the immediate vicinity of Dongtan Beach there is a shopping area where you can buy souvenirs, inexpensive clothes, oriental spices and other stuff. You can also rent a boat, jet ski or play volleyball.
When is it better to go
High season on the beaches of Pattaya falls from November to March. The weather becomes drier and cooler and more comfortable than in the rainy season.
