Beach description
Jomtien Beach, located south of Pratumnak Hill, stretches from Dongtan Beach and spans approximately 5 km to the river. Its relative tranquility endears it to locals, who often visit to enjoy a seaside picnic or simply unwind amidst nature after a busy day. Moreover, Jomtien is renowned as one of Pattaya's cleanest beaches, with meticulous maintenance that appeals to those who cherish comfort and picturesque scenery.
The beach's shoreline is adorned with fine quartz sand interspersed with seashells. The seabed slopes gently, making it an ideal spot for families with young children. During high tide, the water reaches the specially constructed concrete barriers, while at low tide, the beach expands significantly, offering vast stretches of sand up to several tens of meters wide.
Jomtien Beach is a haven for locals and tourists seeking a serene and tranquil retreat, particularly appealing to families. In stark contrast to Central Beach, Jomtien is devoid of persistent hawkers and sex service establishments, ensuring a family-friendly atmosphere. Adjacent to the night market, a vibrant game town comes to life, featuring simulators, rope ladders, slides, and various equipment for active play, all set on a cushioned surface for safety.
Accessing Jomtien is a breeze from other parts of Pattaya, with local transport options like the tuk-tuk available for a quick and convenient journey.
Optimal Time for a Visit
The best time to visit Pattaya for a beach vacation is during the cool and dry season which spans from November to February. This period offers the most conducive weather conditions for enjoying the beaches and outdoor activities.
- November to February: This is the peak tourist season in Pattaya due to the pleasant weather, with temperatures ranging from 25°C to 30°C. The humidity is lower, and there is minimal rainfall, ensuring clear skies and comfortable beach days.
- March to May: These months mark the hot season, with temperatures climbing above 30°C. While it's still possible to enjoy the beach, the heat can be intense, and visitors should be prepared for higher humidity levels.
- June to October: This is the rainy season in Pattaya. Although there are fewer tourists and prices may be lower, the frequent and sometimes heavy rainfall can disrupt beach activities and travel plans.
Therefore, for the ideal balance of good weather and vibrant atmosphere, planning a beach vacation to Pattaya between November and February is highly recommended.
