Half Moon Bay beach
Half Moon Bay is a unique beach located on the Atlantic coast in the southeastern part of Antigua island, approximately 5.5 km from Mamora Bay and a 5-minute drive from Freetown village. Being one of the most beautiful beaches in the Caribbean and in the world, it has the status of a national park. The coast of Half Moon Bay, 1 km long, is located on the shore of a picturesque bay called Exchange Bay. Shaped as a half-circle, this bay is perfect for swimming, both normal and underwater. The big reef nearby is inhabited by tropical sea fauna. With it being close to the Atlantic, sometimes high waves can be formed, ideal for surfing.
Half Moon Beach is covered in soft coral-shade sand. Parts of it are surrounded by palms that grow very close to the beach and make nice shadows. The azure water is clean and clear.
Half Moon Bay Beach is known for being a very popular and atrractive tourist spot. The amount of visitors depends on season, but even during high season the beach isn't very crowded, and anyone can find a spot for themselves here. Half Moon is usually visited by:

The climate in Antigua is dry and warm year-round, but tropical hurricanes are possible from June to November. Therefore, it is better to choose a different time to visit the islands.

Half Moon Bay is a natural beach with underdeveloped infrastructure. There are no standard services such as rental of sun loungers, showers or outdoor beach bars. Therefore, coming here, everything you need - equipment, food, beach equipment, it is better to take with you. After a short drive from the beach you will be able to find a sufficient number of accommodations that can be rented in advance - hotels, cottages, villas. Close to the beach is located a shop where you can buy food, and at a distance of 3-6 km - several restaurants with Caribbean, Mediterranean and international cuisine.
Beach visitors will experience a certain problem due to the lack of public toilets on its territory. For families with children, this can be a key factor to choose a different beach. But those who rent a room nearby or come to the beach for just a few hours can easily solve this problem.
