Druif beach

Druif is a calm beach near Oranjestad, located on the cape of the western coast of Aruba.

Beach description

Druif is covered with fine cream sand with small rocky islets. The entrance to the sea is gentle, the bottom is sandy. A wide sandbank makes the beach extremely attractive for families with children. The waves are low, it's often windy. There is no natural shadow. The beach is mostly deserted, privacy seekers love to relax here. Water activities are available - snorkeling, diving, surfing. Near the beach there is an excellent golf course. Along the beach line there is the boulevard which connects Druif Beach with Palm Beach and Eagle Beach. Nearby are many cafes, restaurants, bars, hotels and shops. Deck chairs and umbrellas can be rented at beach restaurants.

Not far from Druif beach is Fort Zutman of the 18th century, built to protect the island from pirate raids. In the central part of the fort there is a clock tower-lighthouse Willem, built in the second half of the XIX century. The visitors are presented with four ancient artillery pieces placed on the walls of the fort from four sides.

When is it better to go

Aruba is an island of hemiclastic origin in the Caribbean, which lie in the subequatorial climate zone. Almost imperceptible changes in seasonal temperatures, a slight amount of precipitation throughout the year, and constant trade winds are very typical here. Aruba is located outside the hurricane belt. Daytime air temperature does not exceed + 32 °C all year round; at night it does not fall below + 25 °C. Water temperature – is about + 30 °C. You can go to Aruba at almost any time of the year, except for a short period from October to December (the rainy season).
