Treasure Cay beach
Treasure Cay Beach is the most picturesque and most visited beach on the Bahamian island of Big Abaco. It is located near the eponymous resort village on the northern outskirts of the island, not far from Marsh Harbor (about 45 minutes travel north of it). This coast is always on the list of the top ten beaches in the Bahamas and is the perfect place for a day trip from Marsh Harbor.

Beach description
The long, sickle-shaped shoreline is covered with soft and very fine white sand that looks like powder and shines like diamonds in the sunlight, and is surrounded by contrasting turquoise waters. About 6 km of very picturesque landscapes have made Treasure Cay one of the most beautiful and romantic places in the Bahamas.
The conditions for a holiday here are among the best:
- incredibly clean and clear waters with plenty of beautiful fishes and starfish, as well as stingrays, are ideal for snorkeling;
- there are almost no strong waves and tidal currents, and there is wide area of shallow water near the shore, which makes it possible to spend holidays with children;
- On the right side of the beach there's a long sand spit, which, at low tide, can be used to reach a small island;
- near the shore, you can often see the flocks of pelicans and find many beautiful shells in the sand
Walking along the shore, you can enjoy an atmosphere of serenity. But you should beware of the midday sun, as there are hardly any quiet shaded places to hide from the heat on the beach.
Due to the vast length of the beach, it's almost never crowded here and you can enjoy a relative isolation from the outside world, silence and privacy. That's why it is an ideal place for lovers and connoisseurs of romance, natural beauty and relaxing atmosphere.
When is the best time to go?
Holidays in the Bahamas are good at any time of the year, but the busy season is in the period from mid-November to May. The Bahamas are disposed quite low in relation to sea level, so the wind blows in the winter months, but it is gentle and soberly pleasant. The air temperature is between 27-29 degrees from the end of autumn to the beginning of summer. Traveling with children, it is better to come in the autumn months, while the spring is more appropriate to go for new emotions, and peacefully enjoy the sunshine – in winter.

Infrastructure
About 100 meters from the sea is a beach grill bar serving Bahamian Bahamian cuisine dishes. You can rent here sun loungers and parasols, different equipment for water attractions, including kayaks, bananas, boats, masks and snorkeling tubes.
On the western edge of the beach there is a large marina (for 150 places), near which is located a small shop where you can buy food and drinks.

- You can get to the beach either by car and by boat. There is a convenient harbor for mooring yachts and boats. By plane, you can get from Nassau to Marsh Harbor and from there book a taxi to Treasure Cay (travel time is about 20 minutes).
- Holidays in Treasure Cay can be combined with interesting water excursions – to Little Abaco or to the Bay of green turtles, where these marine reptiles are found in abundance. In a marina near the beach, you can rent a boat or motorboat and go on an exciting deep sea fishing – one of the most popular water activities in these places.
