Anse la Roche beach

The picturesque crescent beach of En Laroche is located in the northwestern part of High Point island. A fort was once built on the shore to protect the island from pirates. There is no fort, but the name of the beach remains the same.

Beach description

This beach has white clean sand, a long shoreline and clear waters. The water area of the bay has coral reefs that attract diving and snorkeling enthusiasts.

Hotels, cafes and restaurants are located near the beach. But please note that Grenadian cuisine is very spicy, as many different kinds of spices grow here. Grenada is therefore called "the island of spices".

Anse la Roche and the national Levera park is the nesting place for sea turtles who come here to lay their eggs. You can schedule the very popular tour to the cocoa factory from anywhere on the island. You can get to the beach by taking a bus from the center of the island to Bogles village and then walking from there.

When is it better to go

In the Caribbean you can relax all year round. It is always warm here. Even in the coldest season, the air temperature is never lower than +27˚. There is no concept of winter or summer, but there are wet and dry seasons.

In the rainy season (June to December) it is very humid, there are winds and storms. May – a transitional month, unpredictable, although there are already fewer rains, winds are also blowing strongly. This time is popular with surfers who come to Grenada to catch a wave.

The best time for the beach season is from January to April. During the day, the air temperature does not exceed +29˚, and at night +22˚. Water warms up to +26˚.
