Beach description

It is also known as La Playuela. It is a typical Caribbean beach that will please nature lovers. In terms of territory, it belongs to Cabo Rojo town. Sucia is translated as "dirty" but, in fact, water here is clear, with stunning mixing shades of turquoise, emerald green, turning into deep dark blue. The sand is light and white. Sometimes, especially when the moon is full, algae cover the beach. But during several weeks, the beach is self-cleaned, or algae turn into sand. This beach was named after the neighboring bay Bahia Sucia which cannot really boast of being clean.

wWaves are artful on this beach. If you enter water to the waist level, it's safe, but if you advance, waves can drag you to depth very quickly. Unexperienced swimmers and children should take caution. There are no beach rescuers on this beach, so visitors swim here at their own peril and risk. There are several shallow places for small children on both edges of the beach.

When is the best time to go?

Puerto Rico is warm year-round, but from May to November, hurricanes often fly along the coast. One of them only a short time ago literally swept off the pier, which appeared before the camera the famous Despacito, and made it a history. Also during this period is characterized by the increased humidity and a lot of rainfall. The most favorable period is the time from December to April. Puerto Rico is recommended for a tourist holiday in these months.

Infrastructure

It is a virgin beach with no hotels and other services. But these things, in combination with natural view, make Sucia Beach so special. You can lay right under the sun to get the perfect suntan, or relax under one of the palms. If ou go to the beach in tourist season on a day off, take an umbrella. There may be not enough room for everyone in the shadow.

The beach has no specially organized entertainment but if you can't sit or lie still, better bring along a surfboard. In summer, waves are rather controllable, so even novices can dip a toe in the water.

Don't forget to bring along food and water because you will not have a chance to buy them on the beach. In a high season, a lady offering ice cream and drinks walks down the beach, but don't rely on her presence. The hotel Bahia Salinas Beach Resort and SPA, where you can stay for a night, lunch, or dinner, is on the way to the beach.
