Tyre beach
Tyre Beach is located on the south coast of Lebanon and is the main public beach of Tyre, the 4th biggest city of Lebanon. This is one of the best beaches in the country, on par with the resorts of the Mediterranean in both beauty and comfortableness. Tyre destroys all the stereotypes one might have when visiting a Muslim country. This is due to the fact that there's a quite large Christian community that lives in the city. So it's not forbidden to wear bikini on the beach, and alcohol is also available to order in the coastal cafes and restaurants. The coastline is divided into two zones, for the visitors' convenience - Christian and Muslim.

Other than that, the beach isn't too dissimilar from your typical Mediterranean resort. The 4 km long coast is covered in soft white sand and is washed by the crystal clear turquoise sea. The descent is smooth and very comfortable and the sea bottom is even.
Tyre is an amazing place to spend time with family and friends, ride water attractions, partake in snorkeling or fishing and also relax in one of the numerous coastal cafes. The beach is free for all, and visitors are able to rent sunbeds, umbrellas and sports equipment, there's a free parking lot, as well as toilets, showers and changing rooms installed all across the coast.
Besides all that, there are many unique ancient structures that are considered to be UNESCO World Heritage Sites in the surrounding area of the beach. Such structures include the Roman hippodrome, ruins of the ancient Al Mina city, remains of a unique necropolis and many more architectural masterpieces preserved since Alexander the Great's rule.
When is the best time to go?
The climate in southern Lebanon is very reminiscent of the Mediterranean – summers are very hot and dry, and winters are rainy. The best time for a beach holiday is from May to October, during the hottest months, the air temperature reaches 37 degrees, and the sea warms up to 29.
