Maroona beach
Located in the northeastern part of Qatar, Maroona Beach lies 80 kilometers from Doha. To the south, it shares a border with Fuwairit Beach, which, although longer, is typically closed from April to June to protect the breeding grounds of the rare Hawksbill sea turtles.

Beach description
Maroona Beach, also known as French Beach, is a quaint and serene destination, untouched and natural. This hidden gem is devoid of the bustling luxury hotels and clamorous restaurants. Its main allure lies in the soft, golden sand and the shallow, warm sea - crystal clear like a teardrop. Visitors flock here to spend quality time with family, explore the turquoise waters with a snorkeling mask, or enjoy a romantic picnic under the enchanting glow of the sunset.
However, shade is scarce, making it essential to bring along umbrellas and sunscreens. Tourists should also consider packing chairs, tables, and barbecue equipment if a picnic is on the agenda, along with a sufficient supply of food and drinking water, due to the absence of cafes and shops in the vicinity.
Access to the beach is made easy by a well-maintained dirt road, allowing tourists to arrive comfortably by car. To secure the best spot, it is advisable to arrive early during the weekdays, as the most desirable locations can quickly be taken.
When is the best time to visit?
The best time to visit Qatar for a beach vacation is during the cooler months, from November to early April. During this period, the weather is pleasantly warm, making it ideal for sunbathing, swimming, and enjoying various water sports.
- November to February: These months offer the most comfortable climate, with average temperatures ranging from 17°C to 24°C. The sea remains warm enough for swimming, and the cooler evenings are perfect for beachside walks.
- March to April: As spring sets in, the temperature begins to rise, but it's still a good time for beach activities. The average temperature hovers around 25°C to 28°C, which is warm but not excessively hot.
- Summer months (May to October): It's worth noting that the summer months in Qatar can be extremely hot, with temperatures often exceeding 40°C, which might not be suitable for a comfortable beach vacation.
Therefore, for the best beach vacation experience in Qatar, aim for the period between November and April, when the weather is at its most favorable for outdoor and beach activities.
