Wimbe beach

Wimbea popular beach located on the coast of the Indian Ocean, 5 km away from the eastern part of Pemba city.

Beach description

Not far from the shore, there is a coral reef with exotic fishes, dolphins and whales, that can be easily reached by swimming. The beach and bottom are covered with golden fine sand. The water entry is smooth, the depth increases gradually. The water is clean, clear and has emerald color. Conditions are suitable for vacation with kids. The territory is quiet, calm, and cozy. Wimba is crowded, interesting and exciting. Tourists sunbathe, swim, ride scooters, powerboats, play beach volleyball and football.

The infrastructure is well developed – every year the resort acquires more and more qualities of fashionable one. There are a lot of bars, cafes, restaurants, water entertainment centers that have equipment for diving; there is an opportunity to learn surfing, fishing and other sports.

Diving and snorkeling are especially popular here. You can swim with dolphins here, too. The bay of the city is famous for its numerous reefs, corals of different colors and shapes. This is a habitat for napoleon fish, big turtles, humpback whales, dolphins. Tourists often come to fish for tuna and barracuda in the local waters. In the afternoon, long waves roll on the beach, which is optimal for surfers, there are gusts of wind.

When is it better to go

In Mozambique, the climate is peculiar: in the north it is close to equatorial (up to +28), in the south, trade winds, tropical (up to + 22). During the year, it is divided into two main seasons. The wet lasts from October to March - the period of cyclones and prolonged tropical downpours throughout the country. Dry – from April to September. Droughts are frequent. In winter, the water in the ocean warms up to +24, in the summer it keeps marks from +26 to +29 degrees.
