The line of hotels of different level, stores, restaurants, sport and entertainment establishments stretches along the beach in the shadow of rich tropical vegetation.

Beach description

Jaco Beach is covered with even yellowish-gray sand, pleasant for bare feet. Water entry is rather smooth, the bottom is sandy and firm but the ocean tide prevents you from entering water or standing still in it - high waves make even adults fall. Strong underwater currents flow along the coast, creating favorable conditions for surfers. Only experienced swimmers dare to swim, and novices are recommended to stay away from water.

Jaco is characterized by the well-developed beach infrastructure. You can rent deck chairs, umbrellas, surfboards, water cycles. Right on the beach, a novice can find an instructor who will give a lesson in surfing for several dollars.

Jaco is always crowded. Tourists are mostly young people, but there are also guests with children, and elderly retired people preferring recreation under umbrellas and in shadows of coastal trees. At night, foamy parties are held on the beach.

When is it better to go

The peak  season in Costa Rica begins in December and lasts until April. This period is characterized by clear, sunny weather without precipitation and a massive influx of tourists. Air temperature – above +30°C, water – not below +25°C. From June to October, the rainy season prevails, when the country is flooded with heavy tropical downpours with churly blasts. It is possible to go on a trip in November and May, when the rains are not torrential and fall rarely. At this time, the cost of tours is reduced.
