Yuhina beach

Yuhina Beach is a small beach in the north of Zamami Island, in Asa village. This place is attractive because it's not as well-known as some others, it's mostly empty which makes it look uninhabited, perfectly fit for solitude with nature. The endless light blue sea merges with the sky on the horizon. A beautiful view of the sunset opens in the evening. It must be noted that it's very hot here during Summer, with flocks of mosquitos a frequent occasion in June.

Beach description

Yuhina is an isolated beach among the tall mountains. It's mostly covered in sand, with grainy pebbles and giant rocks close to the edges of it. The water is quite shallow even during tides. As the beach is located in a natural bay, there are no high waves here. During low tides you can see sea turtles that walk along the shore instead of hiding in the water.

There is no infrastructure on Yuhina Beach. The nearest shops are located in Zamami village, and camping equipment can be rented in the neighboring Ama Beach.

When is the best time to go?

If in the north of Japan, in Hokkaido, the weather in January-February is quite wintery, in the southern islands the temperature rarely drops below 20 degrees even in the cold season. In summer, the rainy season comes in Japan, when the humidity becomes almost one hundred percent, and the thermometer is at 30 to 40 degrees.   Therefore, the best time to travel to Japan – is late spring or early autumn.
