Gwakji Gwamul beach
Given that the shores of Jeju Island are washed by the restless Pacific Ocean and swimming in coastal waters is very dangerous, Gwakji Gwamul Beach is the most comfortable of all those on the island. Due to the fact that the beach is near the city of Jeju, it is always filled with vacationers. In addition to proximity to the main city of the island, vacationers are also attracted by crystal waters and clean white sand.
The entrance to the water is smooth. There are both areas with a sandy bottom, and with a rocky one. Of course, it is better to swim in the former, but the latter are interesting in that you can find mollusks between the boulders, which many locals do while tourists splash in the ocean.
Waves and wind, of course, are on this beach (after all, this is the coast of the Pacific Ocean!), but moderate in comparison with other beaches of the island. This is because large stones protrude deep ahead, about which large waves break up, approaching the shore. It is great for children, so the beach is considered mainly family.
When is the best time to go?
The best time to travel to Korea comes in spring or fall. In the summer it is too hot in Korea, besides the air humidity reaches 80%, which cannot but intensify the negative effect of high temperature. But in spring and autumn the weather is warm, but still cool enough for a comfortable stay.
