Hyeopjae beach

This is a place with an amazing ecosystem, as nature on this coastal site has remained untouched by humans: The beach is located in the Hanrim Park. These places are considered one of the most picturesque on the beach, because it is here that tourists can observe a unique combination of white sand, cobalt-colored water and evergreen forests. The beach overlooks the island of Biyando.

Beach description

The coast stretches for a length of 9 km. However, the famous and most visited site with white sand is only 20 m in length. The average water depth is 1.2 m, but the entry into the water is gradual, without sharp breaks. This is a relatively sparsely populated beach compared to other Korean resorts.

However, the conditions here are not suitable for bathing children. Strong winds and ocean currents, high waves – all this makes it dangerous not only for kids, but also for well-swimming adults. Therefore, despite the lifeguards on the shore, when entering the water, you should not lose your vigilance and relax. However, during low tide, children actively play in the wet sand, which opens for several hours.

If you want to get to Cheopje from Jeju Airport, take a bus No. 100/200 or a taxi (it will cost about 2000 won). Then get off at Jeju Intercity Bus Station. Take the intercity bus that runs along Il-ju Road west. Get off at Hanrim Park on this route. This shuttle runs every 20 minutes.

When is the best time to go?

The best time to travel to Korea comes in spring or fall. In the summer it is too hot in Korea, besides the air humidity reaches 80%, which cannot but intensify the negative effect of high temperature. But in spring and autumn the weather is warm, but still cool enough for a comfortable stay.

Infrastructure

On the beach you can rent sun loungers and umbrellas. Next to it there are several cafes and shops where you can drink delicious coffee or eat something more serious. The main menu in them is seafood dishes.

Kai Resort is a few minutes away walk from the beach and is ready to provide 23 comfortable rooms of your choice. Especially in demand are those with windows overlooking the picturesque views of the coast with volcanic rocks and the island located opposite. An alternative is to have your own tent on the beach. The park even has specially designated places for camping.

On the beach you can meet surfers, as well as those who are fond of parasailing. During high tide snorkeling is very exciting. By the way, you can rent a mask and snorkel right on the beach.
